There are very few games that become good and/or huge commercial successes after ten years of development hell and delays, so it was understandable that a large part of the internet was skeptical of Dead Island 2. However, THQ Nordic and the developers at Dambuster are said to be very satisfied with how things have gone so far.

A press release reveals that Dead Island 2 has already sold over a million copies after its release last Friday, and it’s clear that the so-called “zombie fatigue” and somewhat tepid pre-launch hype didn’t come from gaming enthusiasts. We’re guessing that THQ Nordic and Dambuster think it was a great decision to release the game a week earlier than planned too, and we’re betting that the impressive sales curve will take a dive when Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launches on Friday.

What do you think of Dead Island 2 and how do you think Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will fare in its opening weekend?
