Three minors are currently in police custody after the death on Monday morning of a 16-year-old teenager in Thiais in Val-de-Marne.

A 16-year-old teenager was fatally stabbed on Monday morning near his high school in Thiais in Val-de-Marne during a probable fight between rival gangs.

After the arrest of a 16-year-old on Monday morning, two other minors were taken into custody at the start of the evening. These two young people are 15 and 16 years old, indicated the parquet floor of Créteil.

The 15-year-old minor is not unfavorably known to justice, the Créteil prosecution told BFMTV, while the second was the subject of a legal warning for illicit use of narcotics in 2022.

At this stage of the investigation, “the suspect or suspects” have not yet been identified, according to the public prosecutor of Créteil Stéphane Hardouin during a press briefing in the afternoon.

A “manifest ambush”

According to the first testimonies, a group of six to ten people from Choisy-le-Roi showed up near the school to do battle with two young people. The confrontation was visibly prepared. It was a “manifest ambush”, for the prosecutor.

The young people first kept watch before attacking the two 16-year-olds. They chased them for several tens of meters. It is therefore in the neighboring street Hélène Muller de Thiais that the body of a 16-year-old boy was discovered.

“It’s an unfortunate tragedy, said LR mayor of Thiais Richard Dell’Agnola on BFMTV, dying at 16 is not normal.”

The local elected official, who deplores that “violence is becoming commonplace”, announced that there would “probably be a white market that will be organized” after the meeting with the parents of the victim.
