Placed in judicial detention pending a judgment, the suspect faces 20 years in prison for the charges retained during the indictment.

“We are waiting for him to take the maximum sentence for this drama”, commented Aymen’s brother who is “still in mourning” and will “never be able to forget this little one”.

A new call for calm

After the tragedy, the threat of inter-community clashes still hovers in the south of France, the suspect being a settled gypsy.
