Mexico City.- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador defended the participation of Chavista Sady Arturo Loaiza in the design of SEP content and supported Marx Arriaga, director of Educational Materials of the agency.
During the morning, López Obrador also defended that the agency recommend teachers to read Carlos Marx and Vladimir Ilich Lenin.
“This is politicking,” he said when questioned on the subject.
– Why not look for experts in other countries?, he was asked.
“It is that they have here in the SEP, many, all Mexicans, a swallow does not make a summer, or two, it is politicking of conservatism,” he said.
The federal President asked not to stigmatize countries like Venezuela and Cuba.
“It’s the same as ‘we’re going to go back to Venezuela, we’re going to go back to Cuba,'” he launched.
“I propose, why stigmatize a people, a country, that we should not put universal brotherhood into practice.”
The President ironized that Mexico is becoming Venezuela.
“We are already becoming Venezuelan (sic), becoming Venezuelan,” he composed.
He reproached that a “scandal” is made because a Venezuelan works in the educational unit.
“Now a professional or two who were in Venezuela and who are working in the SEP, a scandal, I imagine REFORMA, didn’t REFORMA get anything?”, questioned the Chief Executive.
“No, it’s that many specialists are working, they no longer have textbooks or high school books, they no longer make the content because they charged a lot, Aguilar Camín and his team, Krauze and his team, the Spanish publishers, that’s all, the billullos, how much were they paid? Don’t you have the list for the elaboration of the books there? Krauze, Aguilar Camín, they all received their support”.
“So, now, the contents of the books are being prepared by the teachers and public servants of the SEP, who are good, teachers, pedagogues, specialists, and there is a case of a Venezuelan teacher, wow, a scandal!”
López Obrador took the opportunity to also highlight Marx Arriaga.
– So the appointment of this person in this area is based on his experience?, he was insisted.
“Yes, and there are a lot of people, the one in charge of content management is Marx Arriaga, he is a Doctor of Letters, a Doctor of Letters, from the Metropolitan University, I think, he is the best, an expert and just like him there are a whole team,” he replied.
Loaiza, who until 2018 was in the Venezuelan government of Nicolás Maduro, the political heir of Hugo Chávez, has been working since last year as deputy director of Educational Materials of the SEP, an area headed by Marx Arriaga.
As deputy director, Loaiza is in charge of the “analysis and pedagogical redesign of materials” of the agency.
President López Obrador said that Greek philosophers should be read, but also Marx.
“So we are indoctrinating. You have to read everyone, Aristotle, Plato and of course you have to read Marx, why not?”
