Desperate search! Katy's family tirelessly searches for her missing son

HOUSTON – In a desperate race against time, a Venezuelan family living in Katy tirelessly searches for their missing son. Julio Salazar, an 18-year-old who suffers from autism and other mental conditions, abruptly left his apartment without a trace last Monday afternoon. A witness reported seeing him in a park an hour after he went missing.

So far, neighbors and relatives have joined in the search for Julio. The Texas EquuSearch organization has been informed of his disappearance and plans to join the search early tomorrow. Meanwhile, his mother finds no comfort and fears that the high temperatures will worsen her son’s condition, endangering his survival.

The search to find Julio Salazar, an autistic young man with various mental disorders, continues. Relatives, neighbors and even strangers rush to search Cullen Park in Katy, where Julio was last seen walking yesterday afternoon.

The young man’s mother takes refuge in prayer while she finds no comfort. Maribel González, Julio’s mother, assures that the young man had a nervous breakdown yesterday afternoon during a discussion about a possible visit to the doctor to calm the crisis that usually affects him on more than one occasion.

According to his mother, Julio opened the apartment door and ran out while she tried to catch up with him, but it was too late. An hour later, someone saw Julio walking through Cullen Park, located half a mile from his home.

NBC Houston contacted Texas EquuSearch to inform them of the disappearance, which has also been reported to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. The organization expressed its willingness to look for Julio, although the night conditions make the task difficult.

Julio is known for his love of walking, and he can do it for hours. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a cap, a white shirt with overalls and a blue stripe on the front, and a black bag on his back. If he has information about his whereabouts, they ask to contact the number: 713-755-7427.
