A stay of midfielder Lukas Daschner at FC St. Pauli is apparently not off the table. Sports director Andreas Bornemann told ‘Sky’: “The door is absolutely open.” It was recently reported that Daschner has rejected an offer to extend his expiring contract with Hamburg. According to Bornemann, a misrepresentation: “It’s definitely not that far.” Daschner has been linked with a possible move to Hertha BSC and VfL Bochum.

For both clubs, however, it is currently still unclear in which league the coming season will continue. Daschner shines at St. Pauli with a strong 16 goals in 34 appearances. Accordingly, the second division team would let a top performer go with no equivalent. Bornemann has not yet given up his whereabouts: “Of course we would like to try. Then we’ll see what comes out at the end.”
