One night before the national drill… again. On the night of this April 18, at exactly 10:55 p.m., an earthquake of magnitude 5.1 was recorded.
According to the National Seismological, the epicenter was located 32 kilometers southeast of Petatlan, in the state of Guerrero, with a depth of 16 kilometers.
Unlike past earthquakes, in several areas of Mexico City it was felt strongly although several speakers did not sound.

Through its Twitter account, the SASMEX Seismic Alert reported that the earthquake detected tonight did not warrant the activation of the seismic alert because the energy estimate in the first seconds did not exceed the pre-established levels.
The Head of Government, Claudia Sheinbaum, announced that the earthquake was perceived in some areas of the capital, which is why contact was made with the Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection Units of the 16 municipalities. So far there are no incidents.
For its part, the Secretariat for Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection stated that No damages have been reported, but as a preventive measure, some evacuations were carried out in buildings.
