In the midst of the inflationary escalation, next week the joint meeting between the Government of the Province and the unions that represent state workers and teachers will be held.

The call is given in the midst of the unions’ claim to activate the review clause of the increase agreed between the end of February and the beginning of March and whose first installment was already exceeded by the skyrocketing cost of living.

The increase in salaries for public employees in Buenos Aires of 40 percent in three installments for the first seven months of the year, was raised based on an inflationary projection of 60 percent for the entire year that Minister Sergio Massa included in the 2023 Budget. The downward path that the minister projected was not only not fulfilled, but on the contrary, the variables skyrocketed.

On the other hand, as was published days ago, the Buenos Aires government confirmed to the unions that the promotion regime for workers will be in force from this month.

Thus, from April 1, employees with seniority greater than or equal to 4 years will ascend two categories, while those with seniority of less than 4 years and greater than or equal to 2 years will go up one rung in the ladder.

Those who have been appointed to the permanent staff during the 2022/2023 financial years will also be included.

In the same terms as the previous point, those who process their transfer to permanent plant in files registered until May 31, 2023 inclusive, even without an administrative act of designation, will be included.

The increase in grades may not exceed the maximum level of each grouping, as reported.

Promotions imply a variable salary improvement according to the rung of the ladder in which the workers are included. Both representatives of the Fegeppba and the UPCN participated in the meeting with the officials.

Meanwhile, the unions intend to define in a new meeting scheduled for next Thursday, the payment of a grouping cap bonus for those workers who, due to the recategorization, reached the grouping cap.

On the other hand, the provincial government agreed to the securitization of its interim category of those workers who have three consecutive or 5 alternate years as department heads and deputy directors.
