For the first anniversary of Dying Light 2: Stay Human, Techland takes stock of the important improvements available and the future of the game by teasing the next single player content.

Ultra promising during the presentations ahead of its release, Dying Light 2 was generally disappointing. Between a much smaller scale than expected and the bugs, the sequel did not live up to wild expectations. Techland is perfectly aware of this and for months, the Polish studio has been striving to correct the situation by integrating requested things like NG+.

But for the 1 year of the game, the developers are making big changes and reassuring about the follow-up to the title. Let the players take a breather, the novelties will continue to flow for 5 years.

Surprises and gifts

The zombie game Dying Light 2: Stay Human will already blow out its first candle this Saturday, February 4, 2023. The opportunity for Techland to communicate on the excellent health of the franchise which has sold 30 million copies (since 2015 ).

These exceptional figures speak for themselves and confirm the success of the Dying Light franchise. We couldn’t have done this without the support of our amazing community. I want to take this opportunity to thank them again for their great support. We have ambitious plans to not only develop and support the game even more, but also to expand it to other mediums.

Via press release.

In detail, the studio must have sold between 9 and 10 million copies of Dying Light 2. Which, given all the problems with the game, is rather very encouraging. Players who have been there can pick up the “crane pack” for free. As for the others who have not embarked on the adventure, the title is on sale at -50% for a limited period.

Other gifts are planned, but to obtain them, you will have to give of yourself. By completing community objectives during the Bloody Anniversary (January 31 – February 9, 2023) and Dropkick Weekend (February 9 – 13, 2023), you will earn normally paid items with the “Rais” and “Brecken” packs. Attending Twitch streams can also unlock exclusive items such as “Bozak’s Bow”.

A rain of improvements for Dying Light 2

The developers are also delivering on their promise to significantly improve the game with big changes now in effect via the huge update 1.09. It affects various areas of Dying Light 2 such as technique with a “improvement of the graphics modes on consoles” and support for DLSS 3 as well as FSR 2.0 on PC.

In addition to new enemies (Volatile Tyrant, Raptor’s Nest, the Witch and the Plagued), the Biters are more aggressive. Now Raptors roam in dark areas and the spawn rate of special infected has been increased. There are also new animations for weapons, and better ragdoll physics for opponents.
