According to current reports the German e-scooter start-up e-bility from Remagen in Rhineland-Palatinate goes bankrupt. 75 jobs are up for debate because they are only guaranteed until the end of March 2023. In recent years, the company has been quite shaken. In 2020, for example, a fire destroyed a production hall and in 2021 e-bility was hit by the flood on the Ahr.

The insolvency administration is now looking for new investors. To date, e-bility has produced electric scooters such as the Kumpan model. The manufacturer was founded in 2010 and has long been considered a model company. According to their own statements, 13 scooters per day have been produced in their workshop so far. In 2017, more than 400,000 euros were taken from a funding program of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.

The start-up was last in the press in 2018 because the Italian Vespa manufacturer had accused the German competitor of copying its own retro designs. However, previous court decisions have been in favor of e-bility.
