It’s been a tough week for EA and closures as the company pulled the plug on both Battlefield Mobile and Apex Legends Mobile. Now it is reported that another title has been discontinued in the form of an as yet unannounced Titanfall single-player game.
The source is Bloomberg who writes that it went under the code name Titanfall Legends and that about 50 people worked on it at Respawn Entertainment. The idea was that it would be released in 2025.
News of the game’s cancellation was announced internally by EA on February 1. Staff who worked on Titanfall Legends and cannot be redeployed to another title will be dismissed and given severance pay.
Considering how incredibly good the Titanfall games have been and that more campaigns are something the fans have been asking for, it is of course really sad for everyone, both developers and gamers.
