After many details of EA Sports F1 23 have leaked, the title is taking advantage of this evening to show itself and lift the veil on many details, including the release date!

Le mode Braking Point

In this new opus, the pilots will be able to enjoy a whole new narrative experience through the Braking Point mode. The game will invite players to follow the careers of Aiden Jackson and Devon Butler, two drivers who find themselves at Konnersport Racing Team, the most recent team to join the F1 grid.

After becoming the first champion to win the F2 championship, Devon’s sister Callie Mayer is keen to try her luck in Formula 1. It remains to be seen whether either of the two men will make way for Callie, and whether the dynamics of team and family will cause problem.

Either way, the studio confirms that players will be able to experience different twists depending on the choices made.

Two new circuits

In addition to this story mode, two circuits will make their debut in F1 23, namely the Las Vegas Street Circuit in Nevada and the Losail International Circuit in Doha, Qatar.

If the Losail International Circuit had already been surveyed in the 2021 opus, this is by no means the case of the Las Vegas Street Circuit which is completely new. Fun fact, players will be able to ride this track before the real drivers.

While some circuits are not on the 2023 calendar, some will still be included at launch and can be used in different game modes. This is notably the case of the Paul Ricard circuit, the Shanghai International Circuit and the Algarve International Circuit.

Le mode F1 World

If the overall experience already looks quite complete, budding pilots can also count on the presence of the F1 World mode. The latter allows you to learn about the world of Formula 1 by combining several modes such as time trial, Grand Prix and multiplayer mode.

Seasonal content will be included as well as daily and weekly challenges to unlock liveries, suits and helmets via a progression system.

As they progress through F1 World mode, players will unlock parts and upgrades for team members, as well as the car to perform even better.

Handling improvements

The studio has made improvements regarding vehicle handling. Whether with a controller or a steering wheel, players will notice them.

Indeed, the new vehicle physics grant better traction when braking, cornering and accelerating, which allows for more predictable behavior. A better balance between tire grip and aerodynamics has been brought in for more realistic sensations.

Additions based on player feedback

This new opus also aims to meet some of the expectations of players. They will be delighted to learn that the red flags sign their return to the license after nine years of absence. These will add a touch of drama when drivers and teams have to rethink their racing strategies on the fly.

A mode with 35% races has been added, allowing a perfect balance between short and long options, while respecting the mandatory pit stop rule.

Additionally, a new color encoding system, similar to that used in film and television, has been implemented in the game, resulting in a more true-to-life visual experience.

All of this will be available from June 16 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC. The Champions Edition will allow access to the game 3 days in advance.
