Following the divorce with FIFA after almost 30 years of marriage and a last FIFA 23, Electronic Arts intends to continue its path in the land of football simulation with its EA Sports FC. If the project has something to seduce on paper, the studio has not been slow to put its words into action with a major agreement signed with LaLiga. The first of a long series ?

A partnership for the next six years?

A report published on SkyNews indeed suggests that Electronic Arts would be on the verge of concluding an agreement with the English Premier League, in order to integrate the 20 teams of the championship into EA Sports FC.

The information published on the American site thus evokes a deal of up to 488 million pounds for a period of six years. In addition, Sky also reports that the 20 clubs of the English top flight were informed of the deal, described as imminent, last Friday.

Without going into too much detail, sources close to the US media indicate that this amount represents double the agreement that existed between EA and the Premier League for the use of its teams in previous FIFA games.

If this agreement is effectively concluded, Electronic Arts will then retain its position as a privileged partner with the Premier League, which will grant the publisher exclusive rights to use its championship for its future video games.

Inevitably, the question of a confrontation between EA Sports FC and FIFA 24 is likely to be quickly put on the table.

Humbled over since its search for a new developer, Could FIFA’s historic license withstand the loss of the Premier League after losing LaLiga? This without forgetting Konami and its eFootball 2023 game which will undoubtedly have to fight like never before to find its place with the players.
