The Ministry of Trade and Export Promotion has put in place a maintenance program to ensure the regular supply of citizens in basic materials and consumer services on the occasion of theAïd el-Fitr 2023.

According to the adviser in charge of information at the ministry, Amin Amara, 2,407 censorship officers have been recruited throughout the national territory to monitor the implementation of the attendance program, to which 50,817 merchants dedicated themselves.

6,972 are bakers, 27,987 are general food, vegetable and fruit traders, and 15,787 are traders in miscellaneous sectors.

In addition, 463 production units, 131 dairy products, 290 mills and 40 mineral water production units are also involved. This initiative is put in place to respond to the provisions of law 06-13 amending and supplementing law 08-04 relating to the conditions for the exercise of commercial activities.

Update on import licenses

The Ministry of Trade and Export Promotion had also provided information on the subject of import licensing. The latter had announced that the withdrawal of import licenses for the processed files had already begun.

Economic dealers will be able to download import licenses from the digital platform designated for this. They will then have to complete the bank settlement process in order to finalize the import procedures.

An executive decree has also been issued to detail the terms and conditions for the implementation of import and export licensing regimes for products and goods. This decree stipulates that the automatic import license will be issued for each import operation and will be valid for a period of one year.
