Bogota, Col..- The guerrillas of the National Liberation Army (ELN), in peace negotiations with the Government of Colombia, denied this Tuesday being part of the ceasefire agreement with the main armed groups announced by President Gustavo Petro on New Year’s Eve.

“The ELN Dialogue Delegation has not discussed with the Petro Government any proposal for a Bilateral Ceasefire, therefore there is still no agreement on this matter,” said the last recognized guerrilla in the country in a statement.

The armed organization indicated that it only complies with what is discussed and agreed upon at the Dialogue Table. “A unilateral government decree cannot be accepted as an agreement,” he asserted.

However, the ELN pointed to the government decree as a proposal to be examined at the next meeting to be held in Mexico.
