In tonight’s episode, Jacob Gallagher found out his mother Leyla Cavanagh was on the verge of a cocaine relapse.

He found her home alone in the middle of the day with a line of medicine ready to take.

Viewers know that Leyla has struggled with the breakdown of her marriage and her loneliness for the past few weeks, and tonight she nearly relapsed.

She called the drug dealer Callum and bought a bag of drugs, determined to use them to forget her worries.

But before she had a chance, she was caught by Jacob.

He got mad at her before locking her in her room and walking out.

Picking up his phone, he lured the drug dealer to another encounter with the intention of warning him with a knife he had grabbed in the kitchen.

He threatened Callum, telling him he was going to slash his carotid artery and let him bleed.

But in a shocking turn of events, the scrawny student had the blade turned against him by the hardened criminal and was left bleeding for dead by the side of the road.

Viewers were in shock at the horror twist.

One wrote: “Damn didn’t expect Jacob to get stabbed!”

A second said, “Does Jacob die tonight then?” It’s Leyla’s fault.

Another added: “Jacob only put all BTEC Batman on my bingo card for tonight”

Others, however, were less sympathetic and said it was a stupid decision on the character’s part to pull the knife.

“Why have a knife with you? You must have known wearing this wasn’t gonna end well for you, Jacob“, wrote one.

“Oh, Jacob. he shouldn’t have faced Callum with the knife. His threat was actually kinda dumb,” said another.
