New Big Houses.– The educational authorities of the state and federal systems issued an alert to parents so that they consider the importance of having their children in preschool or kindergarten, in order to provide them with one of the most important tools that prepares them for their academic life, as the level of pre-registration this year plummeted by more than half.
Martha Meza Fraga, regional coordinator of the Educational Services of the State of Chihuahua (SEECH), confirmed that the impact of the pandemic has been “devastating” for education, not only because of the academic delay caused by virtual classes, but also because of the change social in the perception of many parents who are ceasing to see preschool as necessary.
The regional coordinator indicated that before the pandemic, the region had a recruitment of 1,200 new students for preschool, while after the pandemic period there were only 90, and now that everything is “normalized” in Regarding the epidemiological situation, of the goal of 1,500 new students that were expected, for this 2023 only 720 students are enrolled.
“What parents do not know is that their children acquire their academic training in kindergarten, where they learn colors, to live together, to think, to speak to others, to discover the basic knowledge of subjects through of dynamics that they will hardly have in primary and secondary schools”, said Meza Fraga.
As a simple sign of the importance of this stage in the future education of the children, the regional coordinator of SEECH put the performance of the kindergartens in the commemorative parade of the centenary of the municipalization of Nuevo Casas Grandes, where parents, teachers and students achieved a colorful parade in which they showed very presentable floats.
Teachers who met with her during the event organized yesterday agreed to point out the serious learning problems presented by children who come directly from their homes and who did not go through the preschool process.
