Eva Mendes explains why she paused acting due to motherhood

MIAMI.- The actress Eva Mendes recently reflected on the maternity at 40 years old, a reality that he accepted with satisfaction, but that many rejected as a problem or a risk.

“When I was 40, it was a big deal for people to be pregnant, and it wasn’t for me. And then I was 42 and pregnant with my second baby and people were like, ‘Oh my God, she’s going to be so tired.’ “That’s why people have 20-year-olds.’ And I thought, ‘That’s the most regrettable and stupid thing I’ve ever heard,'” he said during an interview he gave to People.

The interpreter, mother of Esmeralda Amada, nine years old, and Amanda Lee, eight, fruits of her relationship with the actor Ryan Gosling, He explained that although he needs more strength now that he is 50, he considers that at 20 he did not have the maturity to raise children.

“It takes more patience. When I was 20, I shouldn’t have even been around a child. I was just foul-mouthed and a smoker. I couldn’t have raised children at any other time in my life, but now I sure do,” she explained.

Likewise, she noted that motherhood was not a priority until she met and fell in love with Ken’s interpreter in Barbie. “What happened was Ryan Gosling. It started to make sense to me not to have kids in general but to have his kids. It was something I specifically wanted to do with him.”

Get away from the big screen

In the same interview, the actress of Cuban origin also addressed why she decided to leave her career in Hollywood to dedicate herself to motherhood, a decision that she says was very easy to make.

“I was older and I knew that my daughters Someday they will be little, and anything they do or don’t do now will affect them for the rest of their lives. Everything matters when you have two little people looking at you all day. “It’s scary, but it’s good because it makes me try to be a better person every day.”

She noted that after the girls were born, her decision about her professional future was not difficult. “I’m lucky. I get to spend time with my daughters,” she said.

Mendes said it was a kind of non-verbal agreement she and Gosling reached. “It was like, ‘OK, he’s going to work and I’m going to work too. Only I’ll do it here.'”
