On Wednesday night, activists from the climate movement “Extinction Rebellion” colored several fountains in Vorarlberg green.

Extinction Rebellion Vorarlberg colored over 20 wells light green on Wednesday night in protest against the government’s climate policy. These include the Nepomuk fountain in Bludenz, the cathedral fountain in Feldkirch, the puddle of water on the square of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra in front of the Festspielhaus and the Gütle fountain in Dornbirn.

Uranine was used for the color effect. The paint is non-toxic and harmless to the environment. The color effect disintegrates within a few hours due to the natural UV light.

The Extinction Rebellion is a radical environmental movement dedicated to using civil disobedience to force government action against the mass extinctions of animals, plants, habitats, and human habitation as a result of the climate crisis.
