Chelsea secure João Félix’s services. As the Blues announce, the 23-year-old attacker will join Stamford Bridge on loan until the end of the season. The Londoners are said to be paying eleven million euros to Atlético Madrid as a rental fee. In addition, the Premier League club takes over Félix’s salary. The loan transaction does not include a purchase option. Félix previously extended his contract with Atlético until 2027 for tax reasons.
For the Portuguese, the chapter at Atlético closes after three and a half years for the time being. Félix is supposed to help Chelsea’s thin attack. In the current season, the filigree right-footer has been involved in eight goals in 20 games. The highly talented player could never really do justice to his transfer fee of 127 million euros.
London offensive problems
In the Blues, Armando Broja, Christian Pulisic and Raheem Sterling are currently missing three offensive players. The Londoners are among the less dangerous teams in the Premier League. That’s why the Blues recently brought another player on board for the attack in center forward David Fofana (for twelve million euros from Molde FK).
