This afternoon a fire broke out in a wallpaper tape factory in the Buenos Aires city of homemade, party of Three of February. The accident left, until now, three injured who were hospitalized, one of them very serious. Firefighters were still working at the scene.
The fire originated for reasons that are still unknown around 2:00 p.m. this Friday in a place located on the Doctor José Rebizzo street at 5100, between Olavarría and General Hornos, in the western zone of Greater Buenos Aires. Neighbors quickly notified the authorities.
In a matter of a few minutes, four ambulances from the SAME Third of February and more than 15 fire crews from said jurisdiction and from other municipalities were present at the scene. The private homes adjacent to the factory were immediately evacuated while work began to put out the flames.
In parallel, the doctors assisted the victims who suffered Burns. Municipal sources informed infobae what would it be about three men between the ages of 55 and 58, all employees of the factory. Two of them were transferred to the Ramón Carrillo de Ciudadela hospital and the rest to the Luis Güemes de Haedo hospital.
“For the moment there would be no more victims”indicated the sources and indicated that the condition of one of the wounded was “very serious”.
Around 4:30 p.m., the firefighters from Tres de Febrero, Hurlingham, San Martín, Morón and La Matanza continued their work to control the fire. The surroundings remain closed to traffic.
The incident concerned residents of the area. Several of them filmed and photographed with their cell phones a large column of black smoke that rose into the sky and shared the images on social networks, while lamenting what happened.
On February 1 there had been another large fire in Caseros. In that case, it had occurred in a plastics factory located on General Villegas street at 4300, between Lisandro de la Torre and Valentín Gómez. To control the fire and provide logistical support, six Fire Departments worked together with members of the Ecological Police and Security, Civil Defense and SAME personnel.
Although the situation became more complicated because the flames spread to a neighboring iron factory, the fire was contained and the incident did not leave any injuries. In addition, from the beginning, municipal personnel assisted and evacuated the residents of the area. From the municipality they indicated that the flames were produced by a short circuit. There was no danger of collapse or explosions.
