Ciudad Juárez— In the first month of the campaign against street harassment launched by the Municipality, five complaints by women have been registered through 911, it was reported this morning at the Municipality’s press conference.

Of these cases, on April 7 there was a detainee and he was charged for the lack of street harassment before a civic judge, who imposed 36 hours of arrest on him.

The five cases of harassment occurred at truck stops, with a response time of one to five minutes by the Municipal Police.

The four men who were not arrested was because when the unit arrived they were not located, it was reported.

“We already have five women who denounced that they were harassed where they are taking public transport and that information gives us elements to make decisions,” said the director of the Municipal Institute for Women, Elvira Urrutia.
