Skottkärra has been withdrawn from the Telialiga’s first division in Counter-Strike. The team, which before this season was predicted to finish 6th, has had a challenging start to the season with losses against both Bitfix and VOID.

The team was supposed to play the season’s third game against Infurity this Monday, but chose not to turn up due to a lack of players. As a consequence of this, the team has been withdrawn from the division.

The team’s first two matches in the Teliga league have therefore been cancelled. VOID and Bitfix thus lose their points.

In a statement, league manager for Telialigaen Tor-Steinar Nastad Tangedal can elaborate on what has happened.

– Skottkärra has been withdrawn from the 1st division because they failed to compete. The club has said that they no longer have players to continue the season.

– We are very disappointed by the lack of seriousness the club has shown. The situation is devastating for many parties, and regrettable for the nine other teams in the top division. The consequence is that Skottkärra’s results are cancelled, and the season continues as if they never participated.

Open a case

Tangedal continues in the statement that the Telialigaen will now have a complete overview of the situation and what consequences it will have for Skottkärra.

Tor-Steinar Nastad Tangedal is clear that the Telialiga expects the teams to take the league seriously.

– The Telialiga has opened a case to find out what actually happened, how it could happen, and whether there is a basis for an extended reaction against the club. The club owner, team manager and a player have been suspended from Gamer.no pending a verdict.

– Now we and the clubs will sit down and find out how we can together ensure that this does not happen again. Participation in the 1st division entails a responsibility and an obligation for a club. In return, the league must work to ensure that it is a venture that is valuable to be part of.

Due to the open qualification towards the RMR tournament in Counter-Strike, most teams chose to postpone their matches this Telialiga round. You can follow when these are played on our tournament pages.
