A five-year-old girl died in Floridawhen the car he was traveling in was hit by an Auburndale Police Department van that was responding to an emergency last Saturday, according to official sources.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) reported that the accident occurred around 9:58 p.m., at the intersection of US 92 (Magnolia Avenue) and Havendale Boulevard, when an Auburndale Police sergeant was en route to support a PCSO officer, who became involved in a physical confrontation with a suspect.

According to authorities, the Auburndale officer was driving east on US 92, with his lights and siren on, when a blue Kia sedan, traveling north on Havendale Boulevard, pulled forward after changing the light to green and crossed the path of the police patrol, causing the crash.

Witnesses of tragic event They indicated that the light was green for the northbound lanes, but that traffic stopped to make way for the police vehicle, according to the statement released by local media.

However, the driver of the Kia told the officers that she had heard the sirens, but moved forward because the vehicle next to her also did so.

After the accident, the girl Jalina Anglin, who was in the back seat of the Kia, was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.PCSO indicated.
