Angry, tomato growers accuse some brands of practicing excessive margins, up to 84% of the price paid by the consumer.

The tomatoes would be sold too expensive, which the main French tomato producers denounce.
Turning away from the French product
According to the producers, the signs practice abusive margins on these products, going up to 80% gross margin. “The margins are more important on the French product compared to an imported product so behind, there is also a risk that the consumer will turn away from the French product”dreads Yoann Le Cunff of the Association of French Tomato Producers.
