For the second time in less than a month, a cell phone store is robbed in Broward

MIAMI.- The owner of a mobile phone sales and repair store in Broward County is convinced that the same criminal who robbed his business last month has done his thing again.

The iShop Repair store, located on Taft Street, in the city of Hollywood, was once again the scene of a daring robbery attempt that, like the previous time, was recorded by security cameras.

In the images captured around 3 am on Monday, The suspect is seen forcing the main entrancebreaking the glass and quickly heading towards the back, where the most valuable items are supposedly kept.

However, the thief left without taking anything of value, since, according to Jeremías Berganza, the owner of the business premises, most of the phones on display are sample models.

What the store owner said

Berganza, who claimed to be in the habit of emptying the store of valuable merchandise before closing, told Local 10 that he recognized the thief by his way of acting.

“That’s how I know it’s the same guy,” he explained. “Last time he only came this far. “He broke the display case and took a couple of phones that are for use abroad and don’t work here, so he couldn’t sell them.”

To which he added: “This time, he went straight to the bottom, I guess he thought he hadn’t checked properly and that the money could be there.”. But he found nothing, only leaving a huge mess in his wake.

In June, another of Berganza’s stores, located in Miami Gardens, was the victim of a similar robbery, he said.

On that occasion, the suspect He tried to disguise his identity by wearing a box on his head during the assault, but was captured and arrested later.

Authorities reported that they are still investigating the incident at the Hollywood location, so they are calling on anyone with information to contact Broward Crime Stoppers detectives at 954-493-TIPS. Your help could be crucial to solving this case.
