France prepares for the most intense and longest heat wave of the summer

Paris.- France is preparing for a heat wave that is already being felt this Thursday in the Lyon region with temperatures of more than 35 degrees and that the meteorological services predict will be the longest and most intense of the summer.

Today, Météo France had seven departments in that area around the middle course of the Rhône river on orange alert, the situation will worsen there during the weekend and, in particular, during the next week, when in Lyon it is estimated that 40 will be reached degrees.

Also from the beginning of next week, temperatures will exceed 35 degrees in other cities in the south of France, such as Toulouse, Bordeaux, Perpignan or Montpellier.

By mid-afternoon this Thursday, 35 degrees had already been reached in Lyon, the third largest city in the country.

The peculiar thing about this heat wave is that it is spreading to most of the country, although in the north the maximum temperatures will be far from those values, at least until the middle of next week.

In Paris, where tomorrow it will exceed 30 degrees, the thermometer will remain around or above that bar for the next week. Likewise, the minimum temperatures in the capital will mark high levels, around 20 degrees.

The counterpoint will be marked by the coast of Normandy and Brittany (northwest), where in the next few days it will not reach 25 degrees.
