The Austrian furniture store chain XXXLutz has secured 92.67 percent of the shares in the Berlin online furniture retailer home24. The XXXLutz Group announced that not all antitrust approvals had been received yet. As soon as the offer has been processed, XXXLutz intends to delist the home24 share from the stock exchange.

The XXXLutz Group, headquartered in Wels, Upper Austria, operates more than 370 furniture stores in 13 European countries, including Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Switzerland. In total, XXXLutz employs more than 25,700 people, 11,000 of them in Germany.

XXXLutz sells the products primarily through brick-and-mortar retailers. In Germany, 49 XXXLutz furniture stores and 46 Mömax stores belong to the group. According to the company, the annual turnover is 5.34 billion euros, which makes the group one of the largest furniture retailers in the world. In December 2021, XXXLutz had already acquired shares in the German online furniture retailer moebel.de. (with dpa)
