Even Günther Jauch (66) had never heard such a story on “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” …

The “3 million euro week” ended on Friday evening with the grand finale. When candidate Kerstin Jacob-Rauch sat on the chair, his question marathon became almost a minor matter. The freelance German lecturer told the moderator about a weird phobia that even follows her into the bedroom.

In the past four editions, a total of 15 guessing foxes had earned at least 16,000 euros and thus qualified for the final. There they could place their winnings and gamble for an incredible three million euros. Also Kerstin wanted to know it again. She was still well remembered by the quiz master.

On Monday evening, the young woman and her partner caused confusion because both were among the candidates. The broadcaster hadn’t noticed it until then. There has never been anything like it in Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? After the young man had failed at the 2000 euro question, she got a whopping 32 000 euros the following day.

In the final, Kerstin gave all the cash back, accepted Jauch’s deal with a guaranteed prize money of 7,000 euros and sat down on his guessing chair a second time. So he soon came to talk about her “dark secret”. Jauch knew: “You have a button phobia.” Which buttons is his guest particularly disgusted with? “The ones that look so pearly and slippery. These are mostly shirt buttons, ”explained the Baden-Württemberg woman.

With the moderator, she had already spotted exactly such specimens, sighed: “If you sat across from me without a tie and I would eat something, I would have to look at my plate all the time.” Jauch didn’t understand the world any more than Kerstin did crazy story revealed. Her boyfriend had to get to know his loved one’s tick early on.

Candidate grabbed scissors in bed

“When I met him, he had really bad bedding with buttons. That was very bad for me. I just couldn’t spend the night there”, Kerstin started. In her desperation, she actually grabbed the scissors at the time. The candidate: “I always waited until he left the room and secretly cut off the buttons. That took a lot of effort from me because I had to touch them.”

The moderator visualized the action. Jauch: “That raises questions for a man.” Kerstin’s story wasn’t over yet. Finally, the buttons had to be disposed of inconspicuously. She about the last act of the procedure: “So that he doesn’t notice, I didn’t throw them in his garbage, but packed them in handkerchiefs with disgust and deposited them in my trouser pockets and threw them away somewhere else.”

The moderator and his candidate got along well. In the end it was still not enough for the XXL prize

At the time, her boyfriend thought he had torn off the buttons with his feet himself at night. Jauch: “When did you confess to him that you were a bit gaga?” Kerstin thought for a moment, then said: “He may have known that for two or three years.” Incidentally, both have been together for seven years.

While the freelance lecturer chatted happily out of the box, things didn’t go so smoothly when gambling. Because she gave the wrong answer to the €1,00,000 question, she rushed down to €1,000. The 7,000 euros previously guaranteed by Jauch were added. Nobody cracked the jackpot that night.
