The animal cause, in other words the question of how we collectively treat animals, has become an issue that concerns us all as citizens but especially as humans. If social networks have their dark side, they sometimes serve the good cause and shed light on despicable acts that must be punished.
A horrifying video showing the most distressing animal torture has made the rounds on social networks. Foundations and associations fighting against animal abuse have relayed, over the past two days, a video that sends shivers down your spine.
In the wilaya of El Tarf, a gang of young men filmed themselves torturing a poor dog, going so far as to show off their action with pride, laughing as one of them committed irreparable harm before broadcast it on the internet.
In this same video, we can see one of the men in question with a rope in his hand. He put it around the animal’s neck when his sidekick got a bar, and hit the dog who moaned in pain.
He does not hesitate to give strong enough costs which finish the animal which yields and dies. The tape does not stop there, and always under the camera they finish the job by bleeding the dog.
Social networks unite: the culprit is condemned
The video quickly made the rounds of social networks, associations and Algerians mobilized, all disconcerted in front of the scene.
Very quickly, the man was identified thanks to the video and the people involved very quickly took matters into their own hands. A complaint was filed against the man in question, and the authorities reacted very quickly.
The journalist Moncef Ait-Kaci, who had also relayed the information relating to the torture of this dog via his official Facebook account, came back with a second piece of information that should delight the fervent defenders of the animal cause.
The defendants were therefore sentenced to three years in prison for torturing the dog to death, before relaying the video.
