Hagen (NRW) – Big alarm on Thursday evening in Hagen! All CineStar visitors who wanted to spend a cozy evening at the cinema had to leave. The building has been cordoned off.

Heavily armed police officers were on site, searching the area with explosive detection dogs.

Background: According to the police, an eyewitness had reported a male person over the phone in the evening who “could possibly pose a threat”. “The tip was taken very seriously by the police and led to immediate police action,” said a spokesman.

Ultimately, the danger was not confirmed. “At no time was there a danger to cinema-goers and residents,” said the police. The operation ended around 12:40 a.m.

How many people were in the cinema at the time of the incident was unclear, as was what the specific danger was supposed to be. (brink/dpa)
