Unterföhring, April 14, 2023 – With “Your Derby – Great Freedom for All”, Sky and WOW are planning a very special campaign for all soccer fans in Germany with an affinity for streaming. As an exception, the Hamburg derby between Hamburger SV and FC St. Pauli next Friday, April 21, 2023 will be specially produced for YouTube and offered to everyone. The live feed has its own editorial live concept with additional commentary, its own pre- and post-run and opportunities for interaction with the Sky Sport YouTube community. Florian Schmidt-Sommerfeldt (“Schmiso”) will comment live from the stadium together with referee influencer Pascal (“Qualle”) Martin, supported by Sky expert Torsten (“Tusche”) Mattuschka. The special broadcast on Sky Sport YouTube begins at 6:15 p.m. and ends at 8:45 p.m.

Charly Classen, Executive Vice President Sport at Sky Germany: “With this one-off campaign, we are making the important Hamburg derby with all its emotions accessible to everyone. As with Sky Next Generation, we are proving: Sky is taking unconventional and new paths, offering something for every taste and an extraordinary live sports experience for every target group, which underlines the high program quality in live sports. And with this special production, we want to show that to as many streaming-savvy football fans in Germany as possible.”

The special production will also be available to all existing Sky customers, including subscribers who have not booked a Bundesliga package, as a separate feed on Sky Sport Bundesliga 4.

Sky and WOW will also offer the Hamburg derby as a classic live broadcast – as a single game option on Sky Sport Bundesliga 2 and Sky Sport Top Event or in the conference on Sky Sport Bundesliga 1. Sky Q customers can also watch the single game in UHD/HDR and Watch Dolby Atmos – this is the first Dolby Atmos production of a 2nd Bundesliga game.

Martin Groß comments on the individual game. On the side, the former striker of Hamburger SV Pierre-Michel Lasogga accompanies the game as a co-commentator. Yannick Erkenbrecher is the presenter of the 2nd Bundesliga broadcast and field reporter on site in Hamburg. Roland Evers comments on the conference including the parallel game (Darmstadt 98 against Karlsruher SC). The expert on the show is former Bundesliga professional Sören Gonther. The classic transmission starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m.
