A young man runs for his life in the middle of the night life. Barking dogs chase him through the deep snow. Shots whizzed past his head. A Wagner mercenary is on the run from Russian domestic intelligence.
Shortly before 2 a.m., the Russian citizen managed to break through the barbed wire fence not far from the town of Nikel. Then his spectacular flight to Norway begins.
“I turned around, I saw people with flashlights about 150 meters away. They ran in my direction. I walked along the forest,” says the Russian over the phone from Oslo in a live recording posted on the Youtube channel published by Gulagu.net.

His pursuers left that dog free, but got tangled in a wire in a snowdrift somewhere. “They were probably afraid to run after me themselves – the ice was thin,” says the mercenary.

The private military group linked to the Kremlin made global headlines last November with a video on Telegram. The asylum-seeking Wagner mercenary could one of the first important witnesses when it comes to accusing Prigozhin and his “Group-Wagner” of war crimes.
