In the same vein and after unveiling an initial preliminary list of 45 tourism and travel agencies qualified for the organization of this new pilgrimage season, the National Office of Pilgrimage and Umrah returns with a final list of these agencies. .

This is what emerges from the ONPO press release, made public on January 22, on its official page. Indeed, the new list of the National Office of Hajj and Umrah includes, in addition to the National Agency for Tourism and Travel and the National Office of Tourism, 43 other agencies.

According to the press release from the National Office of Pilgrimage and Umrah, these agencies are distributed according to four national airports. Including the international airport of Algiers, Oran, Constantine, Annaba, as well as the airport of Ourgla.

The number of Algerian pilgrims revised upwards

In a previous statement to the press, the Minister of Religious Affairs and Wakfs. In this case Youcef Belmehdi, said that the number of Algerian pilgrims has been revised upwards. Indeed, according to this minister, for the 2023 Hajj season, Algerian pilgrims will number 41,300 people. For its part, Saudi Arabia has previously announced that it is preparing to welcome nearly 2.5 million pilgrims worldwide.

Moreover, the novelty this year is that pilgrims, whose age is over 65, will also be allowed to perform the pilgrimage ritual. As for women wishing to perform this ritual, they will no longer need an attendant.
