The casting? A real James Bond secret mission!

Anyone who manages to steal the show from a film star like Brad Pitt (59) apparently has what it takes to get hold of the most coveted film role of all.

At least that seems to be the case for actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson (32) at the moment, who is being considered the hottest new candidate for the 007 role after Daniel Craig (54) retired from secret agents in 2021 after his fifth Bond film.

Where have you probably seen the British film star before? He starred opposite Brad Pitt in last year’s action film Bullet Train and has also appeared in the Avengers film series.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson has already gained a lot of experience in action films in order to be able to take off as a secret agent.

Bond producer Barbara Broccoli is said to be so smitten with the actor that she invited him to a secret audition last year, and it’s said to have gone pretty well. As early as December, Aaron was rumored to have filmed the first rehearsal scenes as 007, including the famous gun barrel sequence.

A source told The Sun at the time: “Aaron impressed the bosses so much that he filmed one of the show’s famous teaser scenes, something all the actors do. THIS step brings him one step closer to signing a contract.”

The Bond bosses were also said to have been “impressed” by Aaron and “his unique blend of intense acting and his impressive back catalog of action films.”

Sounds pretty promising for the 007 contender, but nobody can be too sure about the mega role. Finally, the rumor mill is also bubbling over other candidates such as Superman hottie Henry Cavill (39) and action legend Tom Hardy (45).
