Agents from the Santa Ana police station arrested a 23-year-old man on Saturday night, who moments before had tried to assault a couple who were on the sidewalk of his house, in Manzana 66 of that town.
Consulted spokesmen indicated that the detainee used a machete and a piece of iron to carry out the attack.
The event became known through the arrival of a woman at the local police unit, who explained to the uniformed officers that a stranger had arrived at her home and without saying a word tried to hit her partner with a machete.
Beyond the fact that the attacker tried to block her exit, the complainant was able to escape and reach the police station, while her partner was beaten when defending her and had to enter the house.
Immediately, the police officers went to the place and the violent man, noticing the police presence, began to threaten the agents with a knife. With an effective intervention by the patrol, he was reduced to the attacker without anyone being injured.
Finally, after the medical examination, the attacker was detained at the disposal of justice, along with the machete and the seized iron.
As for the victims, the man received a slight blow to the left shoulder area and the young woman was not injured.
