It was a quiet, family night. The host couple, with four minor children, received her younger sister for dinner and drinks. However, nothing happened as expected and until last night the two sisters were hospitalized for a knife attack.
The man, meanwhile, is in custody at the disposal of Justice and could be transferred to give an investigative statement between today and tomorrow. The evolution of the victims, who have been hospitalized for five days, will be key when deciding on their charges.
The events occurred in the Janssen neighborhood in the town of Leandro N. Alem during the early hours of Holy Thursday. The members of the Misiones Police were warned at 911 that a woman had been stabbed in a house, so they immediately moved to the place.
According to spokesmen for the force, it was after 3:30 when they spoke with Carolina G., 20, who told what had happened. She reported that she was in the place visiting her sister Carina G. (30) and they decided to eat and drink something with her brother-in-law Carlos Daniel P., 32 years old.
The night was going well until the man, who is a sawmill worker, started insulting his sister. However, it was not a simple couple’s fight, because the tone of the aggressions increased more and more until Carlos Daniel took a knife.
In that instance, it began to cause injuries to her abdomen, so the young woman intervened to help her sister. However, she was also a victim of the violent and received injuries in the same area of the body. When the police arrived at the scene, the violent had already fled.
As it could be established, the scene was seen by the couple’s four children, who are 12, 10, 7 and 5 years old. Their ordeal did not end because they were taken to the police station to protect and contain them until a grandmother looked for them and took care of them.
As for the women, they were the first to be assisted and transferred to the local hospital, where they arrived lucid, so it was thought that they were out of danger.
However, after medical attention, it was determined that they be transferred to the Samic de Oberá for better care. There, the police doctor detected “perforating wounds in the abdomen by a knife in the left hypochondrium,” for which he immediately entered surgery.
After the operation, the young woman was in the Intensive Care Unit sector, although last night she had already been transferred to a common room and was feeling better. In any case, she will remain hospitalized.
Regarding the aggressor’s partner, he also had a “penetrating puncture wound on the left flank with an injury to the rear colon,” according to the medical report. He needed surgery in Alem and was expected last night for his evolution, which will take between a month and 45 days if everything goes as expected.
Parallel to this, several dependencies of the Regional Unit VI were dedicated to the location and detention of the accused. Several searches and investigations were carried out, but the man managed to stay hidden.
On Friday, with the authorization of the Five Investigating Court chaired by Judge Raquel Zuetta, four raids were carried out at different points in the town and Almafuerte, at night. However, none yielded positive results.
Finally on Saturday the troops obtained the information that Carlos Daniel P. (32) could be in a mountain area on Provincial Route 4 (which connects the town with San Javier), for which a patrol was arranged to make tours for the place.
Around 9:00 p.m., at kilometer 21 of the road, the commission was able to identify the suspect sitting on the shoulder. It was determined that he had bleeding wounds on his arms, so after the corresponding medical attention he was transferred to a cell. There he awaited determinations of Justice last night.
