“He was very loved”: a young man with autism who was returning home from work in Boyle Heights is murdered

Police are searching for the person responsible for shooting and killing a 25-year-old man with autism in Boyle Heights.

According to investigators, Noah Martinez was fatally shot as he was returning home from his night shift at 4:27 am last Tuesday.

Family and neighbors remember Noah as an energetic, likeable and lively young man.

“Noah had friends of all ages,” said his father, Jonathan Martinez. “He loved to dance and make people laugh.”

“He was loved by everyone. Everybody knew him,” said neighbor Lindsay Meza.

Noah’s father is not sure why he was in the area that morning, as it was not his usual route home.

Jonathan Martinez said that Noah’s boss had offered him an Uber, but Noah had turned it down. They believe that Noah could have been in the industrial zone looking for recyclable materials, because he liked to collect these products in his spare time to earn extra money.

The family was shocked to receive the news of Noah’s death, as they were already grieving the loss of another son, Andrew, who passed away a month earlier from cancer.

The Martínez family asks for help to find those responsible for Noah’s murder. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Los Angeles police.
