Hispanics, a man and a woman, serious after shootings almost at the same time in different areas

A woman and a man, both Hispanic, struggle for life after being shot in different areas at almost the same time in Philadelphia.

The first incident occurred at 8:22 pm last Thursday in the 1300 block of East Erie Avenue. A 44-year-old Hispanic sustained a bullet to the face. He was transported to Temple University Hospital by paramedics and admitted in “extreme” critical condition.

The second incident took place at 8:29 p.m. Thursday in the 600 block of West Westmoreland Street. There, a Hispanic woman sustained shots to her abdomen, buttocks, right hip and back before being transported to Temple University Hospital where she was critically admitted.

Both instances are under investigation. No additional details of the reason for what happened, nor of the suspect(s) have been revealed.
