But could she be responsible?[/caption]

Over the years, Fiz Stape has desperately tried to put her past with John Stape behind her, especially for the sake of her daughter Hope.

Unfortunately, the release of a book about the criminal brought all her pain to the surface.

This eventually led to the eleven-year-old girl played by Isabella Flanagan becoming increasingly curious about John Stape.

As a result, Hope’s behavior slowly became a cause for concern.

As ITV viewers will recall, she not only told her friend Sam Blakeman that she was linked to her murderous father, but she was also suspended from school after bringing a hammer into the establishment .

Could his behavior get worse?

In scenes set to hit our screens, Kirk Sutherland (played by Andy Whyment) reveals that he and his partner Beth are going on vacation and need someone to look after their pet dachshund, Peanut.

Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) suggests that Hope can do this in exchange for payment.

Kirk later calls No 9 and offers Hope £5 to look after Peanut for the night – but she makes him double the cost.

After agreeing to pay him £10, Kirk leaves while Peanut growls at Cilla the chinchilla.

Hope bonded with the animal in recent scenes and Fiz hoped it could be a fresh start for her.

The chinchilla was even named after Hope’s maternal grandmother.

But in later scenes, Hope is horrified to find Cilla’s cage door open.

The youngster and Ruby Dobbs search the room…until Hope lets out a cry.

She finds her new pet, Cilla, dead on the carpet while Peanut watches from her basket.

Is it really what it seems?

Corrie boss Iain MacLeod has teased an “acrimonious feud” between Hope and “an adult neighbour” involving his beloved chinchilla.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, the producer first said: “Hope is developing a toxic curiosity about John which leads into some pretty interesting dark comedic territory.”

“She becomes slightly obsessed in a way that causes problems for Fiz and Tyrone – their problems are behind them but as a parent your problems are never entirely behind you!”

He added: “There will be difficulties raising Hope in the future. Without saying too much, Hope’s behavior ends in a rather acrimonious argument with an adult neighbor that involves a chinchilla.

What will Hope do?
