Many of us were really surprised when we opened our email last night and saw that there was a letter from Nintendo. Although this is not completely unusual, it usually involves new games and different campaigns. However, this was about a title that was already released in 2017 – Super Mario Odyssey.
In the subject line Nintendo wrote “Super Mario Odyssey – Remember the last time you played it?”while they added “Perhaps it’s worth hopping aboard The Odyssey once more and taking the trip all over again”. It’s probably just related to The Super Mario Bros Movie premiering in April and Nintendo wanting some synergy as well as reminding people that there’s really only one exclusive 3D Super Mario adventure available for the Switch.
That being said, it could also be that Nintendo has something planned, either DLC (Mario Kart 8 Deluxe got DLC, you might remember?) or even a whole new adventure. While it’s probably more reasonable to think that Nintendo would save a new Mario platformer title for its next console, we still want to know why you think the Japanese company suddenly decided it’s time to talk about a title that’s turning six in 2023?
