The series has achieved the feat of attracting new viewers while seducing aficionados of Game Of Thrones. Everyone is eager to discover the staging of the Dance of the Dragons. HBO had however already confided that season 2 of House of the Dragon would not arrive in 2023. Casey Bloys, chief content officer of HBO and HBO Max, has just revealed a release window.

Quoted by Variety, he claims that production has just started, pointing out that a release somewhere in 2023 “is a good guess”. And to give a telling clue. According to him, season 2 will not be eligible for the 2024 Emmy session which ends on May 31, 2024. By doing so, we can expect a launch in the summer of 2024.

House of The Dragon Season 2 is set to release in Summer 2024

What about the other spin-offs of Game Of Thrones ? Will they make it possible to fill the gaps between the different seasons of House of the Dragon ? The HBO framework does not want to multiply them excessively. The emphasis must above all be on quality. “My philosophy is that a good script is the number one priority. I’m not looking to have one a year, two a year. I only want to launch the big maneuvers based on the scripts that we are passionate about“, he explains.

Casey Bloys recalls that it was necessary to develop several programs, shoot a pilot, write many scripts before House of the Dragon can see the light of day. The same effort must be made for future content. “I am not opposed to a number of series. There’s probably a natural limit to the number of fans, but I’m open to anything as long as we have a good feeling with the scripts and the outlook for a series.”he explains.

According to him, the Jon Snow spin-off starring Kit Harrington in the title role is still in development.
