The Mexico City Attorney General’s Office (FGJCDMX) reported the modus operandi of the people who were dedicated to selling cloned cola in the capital of the country.

In a message to the media, the spokesman for the FGJCDMX, Ulises Lara López pointed out that elements of the local Public Ministry completed a search warrant in a property in the neighborhood Santa Martha Acatitla NorthIztapalapa mayor’s office, where hundreds of boxes with cola bottles were found, possibly cloned, and two people were arrested.

The detainees were identified as Jesús and David “N”, for which they were placed at the disposal of a Control judge for their probable participation in the commission of the crime of concealment by reception.

“According to the first investigations, David N was the one who was possibly in charge of washing the glass container and apparently earned about 2,500 pesos per week, like Jesús Ignacio “N”, who probably did container sealing work. and distribution,” said the spokesperson for the FGJCDMX.

The local Public Ministry official pointed out that the places where the product was sold were mainly mobile food stalls established in different areas of Mexico City, such as the downtown area and the Wholesale Marketin addition to the Mexican municipalities of Chalco and Nezahualcoyotl.

“The refilled soft drink box was marketed, on average, between 200 and 210 pesos and it is estimated that they sold 50 to 60 boxes daily, which would represent estimated profits between 10,000 and 12,600 pesos each day,” Lara said. Lopez.

The CDMX Prosecutor’s Office He estimated that an average of ten people would work in the place, including bottle washers, packers and sealers, transporters and property managers.

According to the information collected so far, said the spokesman for the Prosecutor’s Office, the containers that were filled with the fake cola that were purchased at different places where containers are sold and collected, while the tokens used to reseal were obtained with different garbage collectors.

Lara López affirmed that the Public Prosecutor’s Office continues with the investigations to collect the greatest number of test data possible and with this to be able to locate all the people who have a possible participation, while a breakdown is made in which the possible cloning or altering drinks.

In the property searched by the capital authorities, they found close to 800 boxes additional, each with 24 containers of 600 milliliters, ready to be filled; nearly 130 plastic boxes, each containing six three-liter bottles filled with the alleged cola and four packets of soft drinks, each containing 12 glass containers.

In addition, three vehicle license plates with a current theft report were found; one from Jalisco and the other two from the State of Mexico; a locator Geo Satellite Positioning (GPS); a sedan type car; a truck and a motorcycle.

According to El Sol de México, in the municipality of Nezahualcoyotl There is another store that operates in a very similar way to the one found by the capital authorities in the Iztapalapa mayor’s office. It is a store located on Avenida de la Noria, in the Impulsora neighborhood.

According to the outlet, this store began selling cloned cola since 2015, and the people who sell it buy glass bottles for five pesos, while they are dedicated to collecting the caps thrown on the street or in stores. of food, to later fill and sell the bottles with the cloned liquid.
