the second season of How I Met Your Father has just debuted on Star+, this time bringing a long-awaited novelty: the participation of another character from the original series, How I Met Your Mother.
The Hulu series features a story that takes place after the events of HIMYM, a plot that was quite successful in the 2000s and is still remembered today for its characters and dated jokes. Now, the two plots connect even more with the arrival of Barney Stinson.
Neil Patrick Harris’ character makes his debut in How I Met Your Mother right at the end of the first episode of the second season. In cold and freshSophie (Hillary Duff) crashes behind a car, and who gets out of it is none other than Barney.
How I Met Your Mother
In How I Met Your Mother, Neil Patrick Harris played Barney Stinson, the “stud” of the group. The character was practically allergic to relationships, always jumping from one woman to another.
Barney, however, had a relationship with Robin (Colbie Smulders) for a period, yielding even in marriage, but the commitment lasted only three years. The character should return for more episodes in the new production, but the creators of HIMYF already advance that he is not the father of the protagonist Sophie.
This is not the first time that a character from HIMYM appears in the spin-off. At the end of the first season, Robin made a special appearance interacting with Sophie at the famous McLaren Bar. But unlike Robin, Barney should get more screen time, being part of the new plot.
