Some time ago we were able to inform you about IKEA’s upcoming smart home hardware called Vindstyrka. The IKEA Vindstyrka is a smart air quality monitor that measures and displays PM2.5 particles, temperature and humidity in the environment. The IKEA Vindstyrka is supplied via USB-C and, unsurprisingly, it can also be docked to the new Dirigera hub.

It has an integrated display that shows the current values and a color (red, orange or green) that indicates the air quality status.

It can also be connected to IKEA’s smart home system to interact with other devices such as air purifiers or fans.

When the IKEA Vindstyrka showed up, we checked with IKEA and were told that the device is set to hit stores in April 2023, priced at €39.99.

Unexpectedly comes often and so the first IKEA stores seem to have been supplied with the Vindstyrka, for example the device is sold at IKEA in Essen.

We were already able to get pictures of a buyer who put the new IKEA Vindstyrka next to the less smart Vindriktning for us, so you might get another impression.

As I said: The official market launch isn’t until April, if you’re interested and there’s an IKEA nearby anyway, then you can drop by – although that’s probably only interesting if you’re in the smart home area on IKEA and their Dirigea -hub sets.
