PORTERVILLE, California – A woman is hospitalized in critical condition after she was reportedly shot by a man in the presence of police.
Authorities said the woman was shot after authorities tried to speak to the man who was brandishing a firearm and pointing it at the victim.
After wounding the woman, the suspect was hit by bullets from a police officer.
Both the woman and the suspect were taken to an area hospital for medical attention.
Details of the incident have not been released and the investigation will be handled by the Tulare Sheriff’s Office.
