Miguel Yamasaki Koizumi, director of Preparation of the National Institute of Civil Defense (indeci), warned that Lima, Junín, Huancavelica, Arequipa, Cusco, Moquegua, Puno and Tacna are on red alert for streams.

“These situations are changeable. With the information from Senamhi, a short-term notice on activation of streams was published, ”he noted. The activation of streams (or huaicos) are flows of water and mass that move in small basins.
CGTP CALLS FOR INDEFINITE STRIKE
A new action protest against the government of Dina Boluarte it’s coming. And it is that the General Confederation of Workers of Peru (CGTP), the largest trade union center in the country, called for an indefinite general strike at the national level for this February 9.
According to the provisions of the statement sent to the members of the trade union, the reason behind the strike, in which all the “affiliated bases” to the CGTPboth in the public and private sectors, is that the “civic-military dictatorship” of President Dina Boluarte “persists in criminalizing the protest and intensifying the political persecution against union leaders through the power of the media”.
This is the first nationwide strike carried out by the CGTP in 20 years and, unlike a sit-in or march, it presupposes the freezing of work by all members of the trade union center.
