An Indiana woman killed a man who entered her front yard and took aim at her husband, who was reportedly her daughter’s ex-boyfriend.the authorities reported.
The events unfolded Monday around 6:30 p.m., when the man identified as 45-year-old Michael Chastain allegedly walked through the backyard of a couple’s home. The man allegedly grabbed the owner as he got out of his vehicle, forced him to the ground, and held a gun to his head.
Inside the apartment, the owner’s wife saw the situation, rhe retrieved his pistol and shot Chastainaccording to WDBR.
“(Chastain) got out of his vehicle and put a firearm to the owner’s head. The owner’s wife observed the altercation that occurred, came out with a firearm and ultimately shot Chastain,” Indiana State Police Sgt. John Davis told WLKY, adding that the subject was taken to a hospital. local, where he was pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, Indiana State Police say Chastain dated the daughter of the couple who own the home, but the woman no longer lives in the apartment. So far it has not been determined if the suspect targeted the daughter’s mother.
Indiana state authorities also indicated that Chastain had a criminal record and was known to law enforcement prior to the fatal incident.
