Before a stadium completely turned in favor of the Indios de Ciudad Juárez, the team led by the Sinaloan, Heriberto García got his first victory in the 2023 season of the State Baseball League (LBE). The ninth from Juarez far surpassed the Mineros de Parral, current runner-up and staunch rival of the club.

The tribe showed its offensive power from the second inning, when César Cano, number 3, boosted Miguel Rodríguez to score the first on the board. In the stands, the hooligans tuned their throats to sing the first race of the season to the unbeatable rhythm of “Aquel Amor”.

However, it was in the third inning when the Indians broke through the decibels at Estadio Juárez, with a sensational five-run rally, courtesy of the brand new reinforcements in the batter’s box, Carlos ‘Hulk’ Díaz and Víctor Ruiz, along with the tribal veterans, Eudor Garcia, Julio Pacheco and Yahir Gurrola. The latter was in charge of placing the seventh for Indios in the fourth inning.

There was no end to the euphoria, because in the seventh, a home run by ‘Hulk’ Díaz put two more runs on the board, plus a third driven by Óscar Aragonez.

The Miners’ response came too late for manager Hugo Gutierrez. It wasn’t until the closing of the eighth inning that the hitter Héctor Cano homered with two on-base teammates so that the fans of the world’s capital celebrated a more decent defeat.

After this victory, the Indians will meet for the second time in the season with the Mineros de Parral this Friday at 7:30 PM, at the Juárez stadium.
