Florin D. (32), an inmate of Romanian nationality, was found lifeless by prison personnel when they were carrying out a routine visit at 6 in the morning this Tuesday in the Penitentiary Complex I, in Loreto.

Immediately, the prison staff called the nurse on duty at the Complex, who was in charge of verifying that, indeed, the inmate had no vital signs and that he had taken his own life, hanging himself with a blanket tied to one of the bunk beds.

The foreign inmate had been housed in the Loreto Penitentiary Complex since June of this year. His death was communicated from the penal unit, to the police personnel of the Regional Unit XIII, of San Ignacio.

At this time, the corresponding expertise is being carried out by Criminalistics personnel of the Misiones Police, together with judicial officials. Both the prison staff and the authorities of the Provincial Penitentiary Service (SPP) also made themselves available to continue and provide all the necessary means for rigorous investigations.
